Impact Story from the British School Of Outdoor Education:
The Return to Nigeria Initiative was launched to address the vulnerabilities faced by Nigerian migrants, many of whom are at risk of exploitation by transnational organized crime networks. This initiative, inspired by the urgent need to provide sustainable pathways for returning migrants, focuses on empowering individuals with resources, guidance, and support for safe reintegration into Nigerian society. By addressing root causes that often push migrants into dangerous, exploitative situations, the initiative serves as both a preventive measure and a support system. The program connects returnees with job training, psychological support, and community networks, creating a foundation for financial independence and personal security. We partner with local and international stakeholders to ensure returning migrants receive the support needed to rebuild their lives free from criminal exploitation. Each individual who successfully reintegrates represents a step forward in our fight against human trafficking and other forms of organized crime that prey on vulnerable populations. In the spirit of global solidarity, the Return to Nigeria Initiative embodies our commitment to building resilience against organized crime, not only within Nigerian communities but across borders. As part of the collective effort to counter organized crime, we are proud to stand with the United Nations and other partners on the International Day for the Prevention of and Fight against All Forms of Transnational Organized Crime.
